Troubleshooting: After switching themes

After publishing a new theme, Oxify needs to be re-enabled per theme.

App embeds and app blocks are per-theme. After switching themes, Oxify won't appear until you re-enable it on the new theme.

Re-enable checklist

  1. Turn on the Oxify: Cart Upsell & Gift app embed on the new theme (Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds, then Save).
  2. Turn on the Oxify: Product Upsell app embed if you use product-page offers, and re-add any Oxify app blocks you placed (Oxify: Bought Together, Oxify: Cross-sell, Oxify: Product Add-ons, Oxify: Product List). The Sticky Add to Cart Bar has no separate block — it appears with the cart embed.
  3. Re-check theme selectors — different themes use different add-to-cart class names (Home → Cart Drawer → Settings → Show Advance Settings).
  4. Test on storefront in incognito.

What carries over

Your cart drawer settings, funnels, free gifts, FBT offers, and analytics are all stored in Oxify and your shop, not in the theme. Switching themes doesn't lose any configuration. Post-purchase and thank-you page offers run in Shopify checkout rather than in your theme, so a theme switch doesn't affect them.

What doesn't carry over

Theme-side enablement. Embeds and app blocks must be re-applied to the new theme. Custom selectors you saved in Oxify stay, but they were written for the old theme's markup, so update them if the new theme names things differently. Code changes you made to the old theme (the add-on price updater, or the collection volume-discount snippet) must be made in the new theme too.

Add a "Re-enable Oxify" item to your theme switching checklist. Easy to forget.
