Triggers — Product-based

Product triggers look at the products in the customer's original order. To add them, open Post Purchase, open a funnel and go to its Triggers tab. Under Choose Triggers, pick Basic triggers or Advanced triggers, then open Product Based Triggers. Basic triggers shows five of them and Advanced triggers shows all of them.

Available product triggers

• Specific Product (Basic) — Match if the order contains any of the selected products.
• Specific Collection (Basic) — Match if the order contains an item from any of the selected collections.
• Product Tags (Basic) — Choose Includes or Excludes and add Shopify product tags. Matching isn't case-sensitive.
• Exclude Specific Product (Basic) — Skip the funnel if the order contains any of these products. Useful for not upselling something the buyer already bought.
• Exclude Specific Collection (Basic) — Skip the funnel if the order contains an item from any of these collections.
• Product quantity (Advanced) — Add conditions for specific products, each with More than, Less than or Exactly and a number (for example, more than 2 of a product). Use Condition Logic to require AND or OR between the conditions.
• Product type (Advanced) — Choose Includes or Excludes and add Shopify product types.
• Metafields (Advanced) — Match when a product in the order has a metafield whose key is the Metafield name you enter and whose value contains the Metafield value you enter (not case-sensitive). Only the Product metafields option is used when matching; Variant metafields is not checked.
• Subscription (Advanced) — Choose include a subscription to match orders that contain a subscription item, or do not include a subscription to skip the funnel when the order contains one.
• Variant name (Advanced) — Choose Includes or Excludes and add variant titles (for example "Large"). The whole title has to match; matching isn't case-sensitive.
• Specific Variant (Advanced) — Match if the order contains any of the selected variants.

Common patterns

• "Buyers of X get offer Y" — Specific Product trigger on X, offer Y in Upsell 1.
• "Don't upsell what they already bought" — Exclude Specific Product, or the offer setting Skip offer if product is in original order.
• "Only subscribers see this" — Subscription trigger set to include a subscription.

Combining triggers

Oxify decides whether a funnel matches an order like this:

1. If the funnel is on Show to all customers, it always matches and its triggers are ignored.
2. Otherwise, any exclusion that matches the order skips the funnel. Exclusions are Exclude Specific Product, Exclude Specific Collection, any trigger set to Excludes, and Subscription set to do not include a subscription.
3. Then the other enabled triggers are OR'd: the funnel matches if at least one of them matches. If none is enabled, the funnel matches.
4. If several funnels match, the active funnel with the lowest priority number is used. See Funnel priority and status.

Because these triggers are OR'd, you can't require two of them at the same time in a single funnel. Use exclusions to narrow who sees the funnel.
