Product sources

What each Product Source loads, where it works, and what happens when it finds nothing.

Open a widget, then Settings → Product Source. Choose one:

Related and Complementary need the product page being viewed. On a home or collection page they show nothing. In the cart drawer they also show nothing, even though the screen says "or in the cart". Use Manual or Recently viewed for the cart drawer.

Manual: pick products or a collection

Choose Manual, then click Select products.

Under Product Source, choose Specific products or Products from collection.

Click Choose products (or Choose collection), pick, and click Save in the window.

Click Save in the editor.

Whole products are picked, not single variants. Switching between products and a collection clears the pick. There is no drag-to-reorder control.

Different products per market

With Manual, the Market dropdown starts on All Markets. Each entry shows how many items it has, for example "All Markets (3)". Pick a market, click Select products, and choose its list. Markets come from Shopify (up to 50). See Store markets and currencies.

A market with no list of its own uses the All Markets list. So the All Markets list is always required.

Recently viewed

Oxify remembers the products a shopper opens, in that shopper's own browser. It keeps the latest 20 and shows up to your Maximum products to show. History starts when the app embed is on. A new visitor has none, so the widget stays hidden. On a product page, that product is left out.

What every source goes through

After loading, Oxify:

  1. Removes products on your storewide exclusion list. This applies in the cart drawer only. See Upsell product exclusions.
  2. Removes products already in the cart if Hide products already in the cart is checked (it is by default). This works in the cart drawer only. A theme block doesn't know the cart.
  3. Removes duplicates and keeps at most Maximum products to show.
  4. Removes sold-out products.

If nothing is left, the widget isn't drawn at all, and it takes no space.
