Add-on price updater theme setup

Make your product page price change when a shopper ticks a Product add-on, by adding small hooks to your theme.

With Update theme product price for add-ons on, the price shown on the product page goes up by the price of each ticked add-on and goes back when it is unticked. It only works for Product add-on offers in Product Page Upsell, not for Cross-sell or Frequently Bought Together, and not for the cart drawer's Add Ons module. It changes the displayed price only, not cart or checkout prices.

Turn it on

In Oxify, open Settings in the app menu.

Under Product Add-on Settings, tick Update theme product price for add-ons.

Click Save in the save bar.

A Theme setup required box then appears with two options.

Contact us to set up

Contact us to set up opens the Oxify chat with a message already written. The team can make the theme change for you.

Self install (for developers)

Click Self install (for developers). The page Theme Setup — Add-on Price Updater scans your published theme.

For each step listed, click the file link to open it in the theme editor.

Find the Search for text, and replace it with the Replace with text. Use the copy buttons. The replacement wraps the price in a span with oxify-upsell attributes so Oxify can find and rewrite it.

Save the file, and repeat for each step.

The scan looks at your published theme only, in a fixed list of common price files. It lists a step only if it finds that text. If nothing matches, it shows No matching price patterns were found and suggests contacting support.

The page keeps listing a step after you apply it, because the replacement still contains the search text. Apply each step once: if the price is already inside a span with oxify-upsell attributes, skip it.

Confirm it worked

Oxify can't detect that the theme change is done. Test on your storefront: open a product that has a Product add-on offer, tick the add-on, and check that the price goes up by the add-on's price. Untick it and check the price returns.

Without the hooks Oxify falls back to guessing common price elements, which is less reliable, so Oxify's own screen says the theme changes are required.

After switching themes

The hooks are in your theme files, so apply them again in the new published theme. The setting itself stays on. See After switching themes and App settings overview. To create the offer, see Cross-sell and product add-on offers.
