Currency and market app compatibility
How the cart drawer follows Shopify Markets and currencies, and what to check with third-party currency switchers.
The cart drawer works from the market and currency Shopify reports for the shopper.
Shopify Markets
If you use Shopify Markets, the cart drawer reads the shopper's active market, country and currency from Shopify. Cart prices come from Shopify's own cart, and the products Oxify loads for upsells and free gifts are priced for the shopper's country. Reward tiers and manual upsells can also be set per market in their own settings.
Switching markets empties the cart. If a shopper's market changes during their browser session, the cart drawer clears the cart and rebuilds prices and gifts for the new market.
Third-party currency switchers
Oxify has no built-in integration with specific currency apps. The cart drawer shows the prices and currency that Shopify's cart reports, so test your switcher with the steps below.
How to test
- Open your storefront in incognito.
- Switch to a non-default market or currency.
- Add an item to cart.
- Confirm the cart shows prices in the new currency.
If something looks wrong
If your currency switcher only changes the prices shown on the page (for example by rewriting text, or with a URL parameter that Shopify doesn't apply to the cart), the cart drawer can show different prices than the page. Reach out to support with the currency app name.
