FAQ: Does this replace Shopify checkout?
No. Shopify's checkout still handles payment, shipping and taxes. Oxify adds to the shopping flow around it.
No.
Shopify's checkout stays in charge of payment, shipping, taxes, fraud checks and placing the order. Oxify adds to the flow around it, using the extension tools Shopify provides for apps.
Before checkout
- Cart drawer — A slide-out cart that opens instead of sending shoppers to your cart page when they add to cart (the Open cart drawer on add to cart setting, on by default) or click your theme's cart icon. It can include a rewards progress bar, free gifts, upsells and add-ons. When shoppers check out, they go to Shopify's normal checkout.
- Product page offers — Frequently Bought Together bundles, cross-sells and product add-ons appear on your product pages.
Discounts that apply at checkout
Discounts for rewards, volume discounts, Frequently Bought Together and discounted upsells are created as Shopify automatic discounts that run on Shopify Functions, so Shopify applies them at checkout like any other automatic discount.
Inside checkout (optional, Beta)
Checkout Offers (Beta) can show offers inside Shopify's checkout pages themselves, such as product upsells, add-on checkboxes, a free-shipping bar, free gifts and trust badges. You add Oxify's blocks in Shopify's checkout editor, and offers can go Live on a Shopify Plus store or a development store. If you use a free gift there, a small Shopify check, the gift guard, blocks payment while the gift is in the cart without its discount. See Checkout Offers.
After payment
- Post-purchase upsell runs after checkout payment but before the thank-you page, using Shopify's official
checkout_post_purchaseextension. Accepting an offer adds the item to the existing order. - Thank-you and order status widgets show on the thank-you page and the order status page. See What the Thank-You extensions do.
