Place an offer in a block you choose
Use an offer group (Block 1 to Block 20) and the Offer to show setting to put an offer wherever you like in checkout.
Instead of one of the fixed places, you can drop an Oxify block anywhere in Shopify's checkout editor and tell it which offers to show. Two settings connect them: the offer's Offer group in Oxify, and the block's Offer to show setting in Shopify's checkout editor. Both use the same name, from Block 1 to Block 20.
Set it up
Open the offer and open its Where it shows step. Under How it shows, choose In an app block I place myself. The other choice, In a place in the checkout, uses the fixed places.
Under Offer group, pick Block 1 to Block 20. The list shows how many other Live offers already use each one, for example "Block 3 ยท 1 other Live offer". The number is only a label in Oxify. Click Save.
In the banner under the group, click Add to checkout. Once an Oxify block is already in your checkout, the same button reads Open checkout editor. Shopify's checkout editor opens on the Apps panel.
Press + next to an Oxify block, then drag it wherever you want in checkout. Use Oxify offers (it works for every offer type) or the block named for the offer type (see the table below). Click Save.
Open that block's settings and set Offer to show to the same name as the offer group, for example Block 1. Use the group's name, not the block's title. Click Save.
Once an Oxify block is in your checkout, the banner reads "App block added โ Set "Offer to show" โ Block 1 in the checkout editor". It can only tell that a block is there: it can't read the Offer to show value you chose, so check that the number matches. If you change the offer group later, update the block in the checkout editor too.
The rules
- Offers in a group never show in their own place. They show only in blocks whose Offer to show is their number.
- Several offers can share one group. They show together, offers with a Who sees it condition first, then in the order you set with Move up and Move down on the Checkout Offers (Beta) page. There is no limit on how many.
- You can add the same block in several places. Set the same Offer to show on each to show the same offers in each.
- Automatic. Leave Offer to show empty or on Automatic and the block shows the offers set to Below the order summary. A block named for an offer type then shows only offers of its own types (see the table).
- A number overrides the type. A block set to Block 1 shows every offer in group 1, whatever its type, in any Oxify block.
- Edit items and Item protection can't use a group. They always show under each item.
Which block shows what
| Block | Shows on Automatic | Where it lands when added with + |
|---|---|---|
| Oxify offers | Every offer type | Below the order total in the order summary |
| Oxify Product upsell | Product upsell, Add-on checkbox, Upgrade, Bundle | Below the order total in the order summary |
| Oxify Progress bar & free gift | Progress bar, Free gift | At the top of the checkout, above Contact |
| Oxify Trust badges & reviews | Trust badges, Testimonials | At the bottom of the payment step |
| Oxify Message | Message | Above the items in the order summary |
| Oxify Notes & questions | Gift note, Quick question | After the payment methods |
You can drag any of them somewhere else after you add them.
The Setup guide also tells you what's left to do for groups: "For offer groups Block 1: add an Oxify app block in checkout ("Oxify offers" or a typed block like "Oxify Product upsell"), then set "Offer to show" to the same group name (not the app block title)."
