What happens on uninstall

What gets removed and what persists when you uninstall Oxify.

Immediately

  • Theme app embed stops rendering. The cart drawer disappears from your storefront.
  • Oxify's connection to your store is removed. As soon as Shopify reports the uninstall, Oxify deletes its saved access session for your store. It can no longer read or write your store data, and its scheduled jobs that need store access skip your store.
  • Customer-facing widgets disappear. Sticky ATC, floating cart button, OTO offers — all gone.
  • Billing stops. Uninstalling cancels your Oxify subscription. See How do I cancel my Cart Drawer subscription?.

Discounts the app created

Oxify does not delete the automatic discounts it created in Shopify when you uninstall, and it can't afterwards because it no longer has access to your store. Open Shopify admin → Discounts and delete any Oxify discounts you don't want to keep.

Code you added to your theme

Oxify never edits your theme files itself, so it can't remove code you pasted in yourself. If you added any Oxify snippets to your theme code (for example the volume discount, express checkout, add-on price or Frequently Bought Together positioning snippets), remove them manually.

About 48 hours after uninstall

Shopify sends every app a request to erase a store's data about 48 hours after the app is uninstalled. When Oxify receives it, Oxify permanently deletes what it stores for your store:

  • Cart drawer settings and design, including rewards, upsells, add-ons and the sticky buttons
  • Frequently Bought Together offers and Product List Widgets
  • Post-purchase and thank-you funnels and widgets
  • Checkout Offers
  • Analytics and order records
  • Your store record, including your plan and billing details

Uninstalling on its own does not erase this data. The deletion above is what removes it, and it can't be undone.

Reinstalling

If you reinstall before that deletion has run, the data Oxify still holds for your store is still there. Once it has run, you start fresh. Either way, after reinstalling you need to choose a plan again on the Plans screen and turn the app embed back on.
