Create your first post-purchase funnel
Step-by-step walkthrough for building your first post-purchase funnel.
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Checkout and, under Post-purchase page, select Oxify Post Purchase. (While it's off, the Post Purchase page in the Oxify app links to this setting with Enable setting and Open checkout settings.) Offers don't show until this is set.
In the Oxify app, open Post Purchase and click Create funnel.
On the Triggers tab, enter a Funnel Name — internal label, buyers never see it. The name is required.
Under Choose Triggers, pick Show to all customers, or use Basic triggers / Advanced triggers to target specific orders (Product Based Triggers, Cart & Discount Triggers, Customer Attribute Triggers, or Order Details & Time Based Triggers — see related articles).
Open the Upsells tab. In the Upsell 1 slot, click Create offer and choose how the product is picked: Specific products, Automatic upsell, Most expensive item in cart or Least expensive item in cart. The offer's page opens, where you can adjust Discount, Shipping and the other sections (a new offer starts with a 15% discount). Use the back arrow at the top left to return to the funnel.
Make sure the funnel is Active — new funnels start as Active. You can change it with the Status menu at the top of the page, or with the switch next to Funnel active at the bottom of the Upsells tab.
Click Save and next (or Save in the save bar at the top of the page).
Funnel priority
Every new funnel starts at priority 1, and the funnel editor has no priority field. If more than one active funnel matches an order, Oxify uses the one with the lowest priority number — see "Funnel priority and status".
Minimal viable funnel
The smallest valid funnel:
- Shopify's Post-purchase page setting: Oxify Post Purchase
- Status: Active
- Trigger: "Show to all customers" (or a single product trigger)
- Upsell 1: one offer (a discount is optional)
That's it — no Downsell needed to start. Add more slots after you measure conversion. A funnel with no offers is never shown to buyers.
Test on storefront
Place a test order (for example with Shopify's Bogus Gateway on a development store) to see your funnel in action. Pay with a method that supports post-purchase offers — orders paid with some wallets or other payment methods don't get a post-purchase page (see "FAQ: Why don't post-purchase offers show every time?"). Verify the offer appears after payment, accepts cleanly, and the resulting order shows the upsell line and the Oxify Upsell tag.
