Messages, trust badges and questions

Reassure buyers with messages, badges and testimonials, and collect a gift note or an answer with the order.

Check the sample wording

Templates come with sample text, such as "30-day returns", "Order by 2 pm for same-day dispatch" or two sample testimonials. Change every word to match your store's real policies and real customers before you make the offer Live.

Message

A message is a short note with an optional heading, image and link.

Open Checkout Offers (Beta) → Create offer. Under Build trust, pick Message and one of the chips Free returns, Guarantee, Shipping cut-off or Promo, then click Use template. Or choose Start from scratch → Message.

In the Offer step, fill in the Heading (optional) (up to 80 characters) and the Text (required, up to 300 characters). The text is plain text; checkout shows it in your store's own font.

Optional: add an Image (optional) with Upload image. For a link, fill in both Link text (up to 40 characters) and Link address, which must start with https://. The link opens in a new tab, so buyers never leave checkout.

Choose the Look: Plain (a simple bordered box) or Highlighted (an info banner that stands out).

Set Where it shows and Who sees it, click Save, then turn the offer on.

Trust badges

Trust badges show icons with short lines, plus payment logos.

Open Checkout Offers (Beta) → Create offer. Under Build trust, pick Trust badges and click Use template. Or choose Start from scratch → Trust badges.

In the Badges step, under Badges with text (up to 4), click Add badge. For each badge pick an icon from Checkout icons (Lock, Return, Truck, Delivered, Email, Question, Check, Star, Savings, Gift card, Credit card, Store, Clock or Globe), or upload your own image under Or upload an image. Type a Title (up to 30 characters) and an optional Second line (up to 60). Drag the badges to reorder them.

Optional: under Payment logos (optional), search for a logo, such as visa, paypal or klarna, and select up to 12. Oxify can show any of the 638 logos Shopify's checkout supports. Drag the selected logos to reorder them.

Optional: add one wide Badge image (optional), for example 1037 × 94 "Guaranteed safe checkout". It shows full width under the badges.

Choose the Layout: In a row (side by side when there's room; phones always stack) or Stacked.

Set Where it shows and Who sees it, click Save, then turn the offer on.

The offer needs at least one badge, payment logo or badge image. The icons match your store's checkout colours, and an uploaded icon shows at 24 px, so a square image works best. The template starts Under payment methods.

Testimonials

Testimonials show short quotes from customers, stacked or in a row.

Open Checkout Offers (Beta) → Create offer. Under Build trust, pick Customer testimonials and click Use template. Or choose Start from scratch → Testimonials.

In the Testimonials step, edit each testimonial: the Quote (up to 240 characters), the Name (up to 40) and Stars (None, or 1 to 5). Click Add testimonial for more, up to 5. Use real words from your customers.

Choose the Layout: Stacked (one under another) or Row (two side by side; they stack on phones and in narrow places).

Set Where it shows (it starts Just above the Pay button) and Who sees it, click Save, then turn the offer on.

Gift note

A gift note is a list of checkboxes, each of which can open a text box.

Open Checkout Offers (Beta) → Create offer. Under Ask buyers something, pick Gift note and click Use template. Or choose Start from scratch → Gift note.

In the Notes step, edit each note: the Checkbox title (up to 80 characters), and tick Show text box when selected if buyers can write a message. Set the Text box label (up to 80 characters), which shows inside the empty box. Click Add note for more, up to 5.

Set Where it shows (it starts Under shipping options) and Who sees it, click Save, then turn the offer on.

A ticked note is saved on the order under its title, for example "Add a gift message: Happy birthday!". Buyers can type up to 250 characters. A ticked note with no text is saved as "Yes". The buyer's own order note isn't changed.

Each note needs its own title, because the title names the answer on the order. A title can't start with an underscore, since Shopify hides those on the order.

Quick question

A quick question asks one thing and saves the answer on the order.

Open Checkout Offers (Beta) → Create offer. Under Ask buyers something, pick Quick question and one of the chips How did you hear about us? or Birthday, then click Use template. Or choose Start from scratch → Quick question.

In the Question step, type the Question (up to 120 characters) and choose the Answer type: Choose one, Short text or Date (for example a birthday).

For Choose one, fill in the choices, between 2 and 8, each up to 60 characters and each different. Click Add choice for more.

Set the Label on the order (up to 60 characters, and not starting with an underscore). Answers show on the order under this label, in "Additional details".

Set Where it shows (it starts Just above the Pay button) and Who sees it, click Save, then turn the offer on.

Answering is optional for buyers. A short text answer can be up to 250 characters, and a date is saved as year-month-day. Oxify doesn't store the answers: they live on your orders.

Read the answers

On the page of a saved gift note or quick question, an Answers card reads your recent orders: the last 60 days, up to 250 orders. It shows up to 50 answers; Download CSV has them all. Click Refresh to read again. It says "No answers yet in your recent orders." when there are none.
