Timer types
Choose a timer type
Compare the four timer types and pick the right one before you start building.
When you click Create timer, the Choose a countdown timer type screen offers four options. The type decides where the timer can appear and which settings you get, so choose it deliberately.
The four types
| Type | Where it appears | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Product Page | On product pages you target | Product-level urgency — flash sales, limited stock, pre-order cutoffs |
| Top/Bottom Bar | A bar at the top or bottom of any page | Store-wide sales, shipping deadlines |
| Landing Page | On collection pages you target | Collection or campaign promotions |
| Cart Page | On the cart page | Cart urgency and checkout deadlines |
Feature availability by type

Cart page timers are different
A cart page timer is deliberately minimal — one title with an inline {timer} token, and no separate countdown type selector. See Cart page timer.
Pick the type
Click Create timer on the dashboard.
Read the four cards on the Choose a countdown timer type screen.
Click Select this timer type on the one you want.
The Countdown Editor opens on the Content tab.
Choose carefully. The type shapes the whole timer — switching later usually means rebuilding it.
