What are sales popups
Promotional overlays that appear on your storefront, separate from your timers.
Sales popups are promotional overlays that appear in a corner of your storefront. They're a separate feature from countdown timers, with their own list, editor, targeting, and scheduling — but they live in the same app and work well alongside a timer.
What a popup contains
- A heading and content text
- An optional image
- An optional link — the whole popup can be clickable
- Full control over size, colors, position, and animation
Where to find them
Open Oxify Countdown Timer in your Shopify admin.
Go to the Sales Popups section.
You see your popup list, or an empty state prompting you to Create popup.
The empty state describes the purpose directly: Create notifications to show social proof and boost conversions.
The editor tabs
The Sales Popup Editor is organized into tabs:
| Tab | What you set |
|---|---|
| Components | Heading, content text, image, and link |
| Position | Corner, animation, and margins |
| Design | Width, colors, background, fonts, custom CSS, mobile sizes |
| Schedule | Delay, display time, impressions, date range, priority |
| Targeting | Pages, countries, customer type, languages, products |
The popup's name sits in the editor header rather than on a tab.
Popups vs timers
| Countdown timer | Sales popup | |
|---|---|---|
| Appears | Inline in the page or as a bar | As an overlay in a corner |
| Main job | Create a deadline | Create social proof or announce an offer |
| Dismissible | Only bar timers | Yes |
| Frequency control | No | Yes — impressions, delay, show-again time |
They work well together
A sitewide timer sets the deadline; a popup delivers a specific nudge at the right moment. Running both is fine — just don't stack them in the same corner of the screen.
