Cart page placement
Put the countdown at the top of your cart page, or somewhere specific.
A Cart Page timer has two placement options on the Placement tab.
The options
| Option | Where the timer shows |
|---|---|
| At top of cart page | Above your cart contents |
| Custom position | Wherever you place the app block or code snippet |
Place it at the top of the cart
Open the timer and go to the Placement tab.
Choose At top of cart page.
Click Save.
This is the right default. A cart timer works because the customer sees it as they review their order — above the line items is exactly where that happens.
Use a custom position
Choose Custom position.
Save and publish so the Timer ID appears.
Add the app block in the theme editor, or paste the code snippet into your cart template.
See Custom position.
Useful when you want the timer directly beside the checkout button rather than at the top of the page.
Cart drawers are separate
If your theme or another app opens a cart drawer rather than sending customers to /cart, a cart page timer won't appear in it. Use a custom position and add the app block inside the drawer, or use a top/bottom bar timer instead.
Tip
Test with items actually in the cart. An empty cart page often renders a different template, and it's easy to conclude the timer is broken when you're simply looking at the empty state.
