Troubleshooting

Coupon or free shipping text not replaced

Fix a bar that literally displays {{code}} or {{amount}} instead of your values.

If your storefront shows the raw token text instead of a discount code or an amount, one of the checks below will explain it.

The bar literally shows {{code}}

Open the announcement and go to the Content tab.

Confirm the Coupon / Discount code toggle is switched on and the field has a code in it.

Check your title uses exactly {{code}} — two curly braces on each side, lowercase, no spaces inside.

Click Save and reload your storefront.

Common mistakes: {code}, {{ code }}, {{CODE}}. None of these are recognized.

The bar literally shows {{amount}}

Confirm the Free shipping bar toggle is on.

Confirm Free shipping threshold has a value greater than 0.

Check the title uses exactly {{amount}}.

Click Save and reload your storefront.

The card isn't there at all

Both features are Simple announcement only. If your announcement type is running line or rotating, the cards don't appear. Switch the type on the Content tab.

The code shows but doesn't work at checkout

The app displays the code — it doesn't create the discount.

Go to Discounts in your Shopify admin.

Confirm a discount exists with exactly that code, including capitalization.

Check its status is Active and that its dates and conditions allow it to apply.

The free shipping amount never updates

The amount is based on the customer's cart total. Add an item to your cart and reload — with an empty cart it correctly shows the full threshold.

Free shipping is announced but charged at checkout

The bar doesn't create a shipping rate. Add a free shipping rate with the same minimum order amount under Settings → Shipping and delivery in your Shopify admin.

Announcing free shipping you don't actually offer is a fast route to abandoned carts and chargebacks. Always place a test order to confirm the rate applies.
