Free shipping bar
Show customers how much more they need to add to qualify for free shipping.
The free shipping bar tracks the customer's cart total and shows how much more they need to spend to hit your free shipping threshold. When they qualify, it swaps to a success message.
The free shipping bar is available on Simple announcement only.
Turn it on
Open the announcement and go to the Content tab.
Scroll to the Free shipping bar card.
Switch the toggle on. The threshold is pre-filled with 50.
Change the Free shipping threshold to your real minimum order amount.
Click Save.
Show the remaining amount
Use the {{amount}} token in your Title. It's replaced with how much more the customer needs to spend, formatted in your store's currency.
In Announcement Settings, write a title containing {{amount}}.
For example: Add {{amount}} more for free shipping!
Click Save.
A customer with $32 in their cart and a $50 threshold sees Add $18.00 more for free shipping!
Set the success message
Fill in Success message with what the bar should say once the customer qualifies — for example You've unlocked free shipping!.
The success message is translatable, so add versions for each language if your store is multilingual.

Set up the shipping rate in Shopify too
This bar only shows the progress message. You still need a free shipping rate in Settings → Shipping and delivery with the same minimum order amount, or customers will be charged shipping after the bar told them it was free.
Tip
Set your threshold a little above your average order value — high enough to lift AOV, low enough that it still feels reachable.
