Background color and gradient
Set a solid background color, or build a two-color gradient.
Background settings live in the Card Design card on the Design tab.
Use a solid color
Open the announcement and go to the Design tab.
In Card Design, set Background type to single color.
Click the Single color background swatch and pick a color, or type a hex code like #5B47E0.
Click Save.
Use a gradient
In Card Design, set Background type to gradient.
Set Gradient start color — the color the gradient begins with.
Set Gradient end color — the color it fades into.
Set Gradient turn to control the angle. Any value from 0 to 360 degrees.
Click Save.
Gradient angles
| Turn | Direction |
|---|---|
0 | Bottom to top |
90 | Left to right |
180 | Top to bottom |
270 | Right to left |
For a wide bar, 90 (left to right) usually looks best — the gradient has room to breathe across the full width.
Check your contrast
Gradients change the background color across the bar. Text that is readable over the start color can disappear over the end color. Keep both colors in the same tonal range — two dark shades, or two light ones.
Tip
Invalid hex codes are rejected with an "Invalid hex code" error. Include the # and use either 3 or 6 characters: #000 or #1a1a1a.
