Discount not applying at checkout
The bundle adds to cart, but the box discount isn't taken off.
Where the box discount comes from depends on the builder's cart-line mode — the Show products as individual lines in the cart checkbox under Advanced settings on the Settings tab. Work out which mode you're in first, because what you should expect to see is different.
| Checkbox off (default) | Checkbox on | |
|---|---|---|
| In the cart | One bundle line | One line per product |
| Where the discount comes from | The bundle line's own price. The app merges the products into one line with the box discount already taken off. | The app's Oxify Bundle Discount automatic discount, applied to each line. |
| Under Shopify admin → Discounts | Nothing for the builder — it isn't a Shopify discount, just the line's price. | Oxify Bundle Discount. |
| Where to check it | The price on the bundle line, in the cart and at checkout. | The checkout total. Some themes' carts don't show automatic discounts. |
You may also see Oxify Bundle Discount under Discounts if you run Quantity Break offers. It doesn't price a builder in the default mode.
Check these first — either mode
1. Does the selected box have a discount?
Open the builder, go to the Products tab, and check the Quantity as an option section. A box set to No Discount, or to a discount of 0, is working correctly when nothing comes off. How box discounts are calculated explains what each type does.
2. Did the customer reach the box size?
The discount belongs to a box size. By default the Add to Cart button stays disabled until the box is full, so a part-filled box can't normally be bought. If you ticked Allow customers to add more items than the selected quantity, a box's quantity is a minimum: customers get the discount of the highest box they've reached, and none until they reach your smallest one — see Allow extra items in a box. Check your selection rules and box quantities line up.
3. Is the Fixed Price lower than the items' total?
A Fixed Price box only takes something off when its price is below what the products in the box add up to. If the items cost less than your fixed price, customers just pay the normal prices. Compare it with the products' current prices.
4. Did you save after changing it?
The discount is worked out from the box settings you last saved. After you change a box's discount, or add or remove products, click Save on the published builder. Until then customers get the old values.
5. Multi-currency stores
Confirm your currency rates in Settings → Markets. A Fixed Price box is entered in your store currency and converted for shoppers in other markets, so the price they see can differ from the number you typed — and a wrong rate makes a correctly applied discount look wrong.
Checkbox off (default): the bundle has to merge
The discount is part of the merged line's price, so a bundle that doesn't merge doesn't get it.
6. Did the bundle merge into one cart line?
If the cart shows every product on its own line at full price, the bundle never merged. See Bundle shows as separate lines in the cart.
7. Is the bundle's parent product missing?
If you see the banner This bundle's parent product was deleted, the hidden product that represents the bundle in the cart is gone. Save the builder again to recreate it.
Discount-combination settings don't apply to this discount, because it isn't a Shopify discount — so there's nothing to check under Discounts for it.
Checkbox on: the automatic discount does the pricing
8. Is Oxify Bundle Discount still there?
Go to Shopify admin → Discounts and look for the automatic discount Oxify Bundle Discount. The app creates it when you publish a builder with individual lines on. If you deleted it, publish the builder again (Unpublish, then Publish) and the app creates it again. Don't rename it or give it an end date: the app resets its title, dates and combination settings every time you publish.
9. Is another automatic discount taking over?
By default Shopify applies only one product discount per product — the best one wins.
Go to Shopify admin → Discounts.
Look for other automatic discounts covering the same products. Leave Oxify Bundle Discount active.
Pause the conflicting one and retest.
Two automatic discounts competing over the same line items can keep one of them from applying.
10. Check discount combinations
Each Shopify discount has combination settings. Review them on the other discount, and check the app's own switch too: in the app, open Settings in the sidebar and look at Turn off discount combinations under Discounts. While it's on, other product and order discount codes can't be combined with your bundle discounts — only the Oxify discount applies at checkout. Free shipping codes still work. Change that switch rather than the settings on Oxify Bundle Discount itself, which the app rewrites.
11. Was the builder unpublished?
A customer whose cart already holds products from a builder you've since unpublished or deleted loses its discount.
Test with a real order
Previews and draft orders don't exercise the app's discount and cart merging the same way a real checkout does. Place a small live test order — you can refund it — to confirm end to end.
