Schedule with active dates
Set a start and end time so a promotion runs itself.
Active dates let you build an offer now and have it appear and disappear on its own — useful for Black Friday, a launch week, or a weekend sale.
Set a start date
Open your bundle and stay on the Bundle Settings tab.
Find the Active Dates card.
Set Start date and Start time.
Set the Status dropdown in the editor header to Active, then click Save.
An Active bundle with a future start date stays hidden until that moment arrives. You don't need to come back and switch anything on.
Set an end date
In the same card, tick Set end date.
Set End date and End time.
Click Save.
Leave the end date off and the offer runs until you unpublish it.
Rules
- The end must be after the start. Otherwise you'll see End date and time must be after start date and time.
- Dates use the
YYYY-MM-DDformat. - The card shows a timezone in brackets next to the Active dates heading. That's your store's timezone, from Shopify admin → Settings → General.
Common schedules
| Promotion | Start | End |
|---|---|---|
| Weekend sale | Friday 00:00 | Monday 00:00 |
| Black Friday | Friday 00:00 | Cyber Monday 23:59 |
| Launch week | Launch day 09:00 | Seven days later |
| Evergreen | Now | No end date |
Times are read from your computer, not your store
The label shows your store's timezone, but the time you type is interpreted in your own browser's timezone. If your computer and your store are set to different timezones, the offer starts and ends offset by that difference.
If you travel, or your store's timezone isn't your own, work out the time in your computer's local timezone and enter that. Then check the bundle actually appears when you expect.
Scheduling still needs an Active status
An Inactive bundle stays hidden no matter what the dates say. Set it Active from the Status dropdown in the editor header, and let the dates do the rest.
